Homeless Peoples' Federation of Tanzania

Currently operating in six cities across Tanzania with nearly 8,000 members, the Homeless People's Federation of Tanzania is just beginning to develop as a city- and country-wide movement. Using savings as a core strategy, the Federation has initiated enumeration exercises, exchange programmes, and has begun to broker deals with local governments. The Federation is supported by the Centre for Community Initiatives (CCI).

The Federation of Rural and Urban poor

The Malawi Homeless People's Federation (Federation) is a grassroots network of poor communities involved in community savings programs. The Federation was established in 2003 and to date has over 50,000 members in 26 districts across Malawi. Women are central to the organization and about 80% of the members are women. The majority of members live in poor urban and rural communities and their incomes are below the national poverty level. ...

Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG)

The Namibia Housing Action Group (NHAG) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) formed in 1992 to assist the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN). NHAG and SDFN have worked together over the years to help poor households improve their living conditions and gain access to basic infrastructure, including sanitation and housing.

Centre for Community Initiatives (CCI)

Center for Community Initiatives (CCI) supports the Tanzanian Urban Poor Federation (TUPF) by empowering them to undertake different development activities for improving the quality of their life as well as linking the groups with government and other development stakeholders.
